About me

Hello, everybody! My name is Nadeshka Monroig, but I go by Nashi most of the time (hence the blog name!) because a lot of people find that my name is too long or can difficult to pronounce and write. I'm a foodie, book hoarder, movie/TV addict and coffee snob that lives in a small easy to miss but beyond beautiful island called Puerto Rico. That means a few things: air travel and shipping are extremely expensive, I can go to the beach 365 days a year and I can speak English and Spanish fluently. 

Oh, and I almost forgot! I consider myself a writer. I cannot think of a time in which I was not in love with words or where I did not crave to tell a story. I have tons of stories stored away that I wrote from a very young age. Most of them are not very good, but they are proof. I have learned throughout my short twenty-four years of life is that words are powerful and I have always wanted to be able to use them for something meaningful. If I could impact at least one person with my writing, that would be enough. This love for creativity and storytelling is what led me to study journalism when I entered University and later on inspired me to complete my master's degree in Creative Writing.
